Entrepreneurial Blog - Week 6: Reflection on Entrepreneurship, Self-Mastery, and Purpose

Entrepreneurial Blog - Week 6:  Reflection on Entrepreneurship, Self-Mastery, and Purpose This week’s study materials offered powerful insights into what it truly means to be an entrepreneur—not just in business, but in life. From Amar Bhide’s How Entrepreneurs Craft Strategies That Work , I learned that successful entrepreneurs often thrive not because they had the perfect plan, but because they acted decisively with limited information, learned quickly, and adapted along the way. This challenges the myth that great business ideas require massive funding and detailed forecasting. Instead, perseverance, responsiveness, and disciplined execution are often more valuable. President N. Eldon Tanner’s talk, Success Is Gauged by Self-Mastery , added a deeply spiritual and personal dimension to this lesson. He reminded me that the greatest measure of success is our ability to control ourselves and stay true to our values. His emphasis on self-discipline, clean living, and commitme...

Entrepreneurial Blog- Week 5: "A Hero's Journey" and Mastery - Skill, Character, or Luck

Entrepreneurial Blog- Week 5: "A Hero's Journey" and Mastery - Skill, Character, or Luck This week’s video, “A Hero’s Journey” , offered invaluable insights into entrepreneurship, personal growth, and living a life of meaning. The central theme of the hero’s journey resonated with me deeply because it emphasizes that success isn’t just about the destination but how we grow, overcome challenges, and evolve throughout the journey. One of the most powerful takeaways from the video was the idea that choosing the hero’s journey of entrepreneurship means living every moment like it matters . As the speaker mentioned, this journey is about making a meaningful impact in the world, even if it comes at the cost of hardship and setbacks. The greatest fulfillment comes not from external recognition or wealth, but from the process itself—how we grow, change, and contribute to something larger than ourselves. This idea connects closely with my own entrepreneurial aspirations. I’m lea...

Entrepreneurial Blog - Week 04: Measuring My Life & Facing My Fears

Entrepreneurial Blog - Week  04: Measuring My Life & Facing My Fears This week, I learned a lot from reading How Will You Measure Your Life? by Clayton M. Christensen and from the lessons about deconstructing fear and identifying core values. These ideas really connected with me because they made me think more deeply about the kind of life I want to live—not just in terms of success or money, but in becoming the kind of person and future mother I hope to be. One of the biggest takeaways from Christensen’s book was the idea that happiness and success don’t come from chasing just achievements or money. Instead, real success comes from having strong relationships and living according to your core values. This hit home for me because I want to be a mom who not only raises a strong, happy family but is also a good example. I want my children to see me as someone who is hardworking, educated, and spiritually centered. That’s why I’ve been working hard to finish my education...
Entrepreneurial Blog – Week 3: Reflection on Lifelong Learning, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship This week has been really eye-opening for me, especially as I reflected on the Magdalena Yesil case and the lessons from the honesty and business ethics materials. The most meaningful thing I learned from the Yesil case was how she never stopped learning. No matter how successful she got, she always kept pushing herself to grow and adapt. That really made me think about the kind of person I want to be. I don’t want to just coast once I reach a certain level—I want to always be curious and keep improving. I also appreciated how Yesil made family a big priority. Even though she had a demanding job, she still found time every day to be with her kids. That reminded me that success isn’t just about work—it’s also about making time for the people who matter most. In the W03 Study materials, I especially liked Lynn G. Robbins’ talk, “Making a Living and a Life.” The way he described the differ...
